XINGLEI'S PORTFOLIO
STUDIO PROJECT 1
This is a module i took in Year 1 called Studio Project 1! It is a collaboration with APSN where we had to make a garment out of recycled UNIQLO clothes given to us. Our clients are students from APSN and we had to make a garment based on a subculture they were interested in. This is a group project where I worked on a garment while my partner worked on an accessory.

Hippie Subculture:
A subculture that emerged in the 60s where they preached on love, peace, freedom and a deep connection with nature. Their beliefs stems from peace and non-violence where they protested war and made the slogan "Make Love, Not War".

Their wadrobe stapels includes flowly bell bottoms, peasant trousers, tie dye shirts and DIY fashion. Their palette ranges from earthy muted tones to psychedelic colours and spirals.

From our inspiration board, we decided to translate their earthy colour palettes with their patchwork and layered garments to life. I incorporated a lot of layering and usage of natural fibers to my final design.
